Professional Experience:
Based in Managua, Nicaragua, Isabel manages all aspects of the firm’s internal administration, a role that includes working hand-in-hand with attorneys, overseeing billing and project management functions, and supervising staff members across various departments, including marketing, business development, human resources, accounting, IT and knowledge management. Before assuming her present position in 2015, she served as the firm’s marketing and business development manager.
Fluent in Spanish and English, Isabel brings a deep understanding of strategic marketing initiatives, technology innovations, and the day-to-day administrative functions that are critical in providing world-class services to the firm’s sophisticated clientele. She applies her skills in market research, print and digital advertising, social media and branding to expand delivery of Alvarado y Asociados’ legal services to global markets – a capability enhanced by the firm’s position as Lex Mundi’s exclusive member firm in Nicaragua that extends its reach to more than 100 countries.
Isabel earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Masters in Business Administration degrees from Chapman University in Orange, California. While in the Los Angeles area, she worked for an Orange County law firm as a legal secretary and office manager, and also served as a program coordinator for the American Heart Association in Irvine. At the American Heart Association, Isabel’s success in developing outreach programs targeting the Latino community was recognized with awards from several schools. Moving to Texas, she launched digital advertising, social media and e-commerce initiatives for a Dallas-based luxury rug company.
Active in the community and passionate about mentoring women, Isabel is a founding member and serves on the board of directors of Abogadas +505, the Nicaraguan Chapter of the Vance Centers Women in the Profession. In addition, she has significantly expanded Alvarado y Asociados’ commitment to pro bono legal work as well as the firm’s role in supporting a variety of community initiatives. Since 2016, she has served as regional vice chair – Latin America on Lex Mundi’s COO and Executive Director Committee.
